The District of Sooke is yet again seeking to hire a Corporate Officer under a new title, Manager of Legislative Services. This position was previously posted in March 2017 and July 2016. It was filled by direct appointment in the beginning of 2016.

The Manager of Legislative Services is responsible for the management of the District’s legislative functions and responsibilities. This position is designated as Corporate Officer, as outlined in the Community Charter and the Local Government Act, and will have a thorough working knowledge of the legislative, legal, and corporate responsibilities in BC local government legislation.
This position is exempt from all associations and unions within the District of Sooke. The District of Sooke offers a competitive salary plus an excellent management benefits package. The posting closes at 4:30 p.m. on May 12, 2017.
Engineering Technologist I

Reporting to the Director of Development Services, this position is responsible for assisting in the planning, design, financial control of engineering projects and the on-going co-ordination of various programs such as the infrastructure asset management system, related to municipal engineering infrastructure. Work may include the supervision of contractors, co-coordination of work activities with public and private utilities, developers, and regular contact with community representatives, elected municipal officials, and members of the public. Some latitude for the use of independent judgment and initiative is required in all phases of the work.
The 2017 hourly rate for the Engineering Technologist I is $35.12/hour, plus benefits. The posting closes at 4:30 p.m. on May 12, 2017.
